Every winter, it’s the same old story. Too cold a day: raclette. A tiring day: raclette. Evening with friends: raclette. Family meal: raclette. Any occasion is good to get out the machine and the paddles.

Raclette is a simple but very, very effective solution. And even if you’re already on your thirtieth raclette of the season…you won’t be able to resist the temptation to eat one this Monday. You don’t have a choice anyway as it’s International Raclette Day. And in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, there is no shortage of places where you can taste this precious cheese. We present them to you.

Edelwyss in Kopstal

Edelwyss is a Swiss restaurant in Kopstal. You will find grilled meats, pizzas but also and above all mountain specialities like… raclette. Whether it is French or Swiss, it can be served to you as much as you like. All this in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The Chalet du Cercle in Luxembourg City

From mid-November to the beginning of January, the brasserie du Cercle is transformed into a chalet. You will find Swiss specialities in a mountain setting. And if you don’t just like raclette, you can find tartiflette, fondue, pierrade and other typical and comforting dishes.

The Kreuzerbuch Chalet

At the edge of the forest in Hobscheid, you can enjoy the real raclette that you scrape off the floor. For 29 euros per person you can have the traditional raclette made with raw milk from Savoie, served with a platter of Luxembourgish charcuterie.

La Table de la Chapelle in Luxembourg City

You’ll have to wait a couple of days to try their famous raclette but it’s worth it. Every Wednesday, the restaurant and delicatessen offers a raclette service for 29 euros.

Le Mont Dorf

For the end of the year, the village hall of the old thermal baths is transformed into a short-lived restaurant. Renamed “Le Mont Dorf”, the restaurant offers many specialities based on cheese. You will of course find raclette. If you are tempted, hurry up because the restaurant will close its doors on January 10th.

Um Haeffchen in Bascharage

It is a restaurant specialized in mountain dishes located in Bascharage. At Um Haeffchen you will find raclette with different kinds of cheese but also all kinds of fondue, charbonnades but also tarts flambées.

Kaempff-Kohler is a caterer and cheese specialist. The establishment offers no less than 180 types of cheese. So you can be sure to find the raclette of your dreams. And their master cheese maturers offer you home-made matured cheeses.

Le cœur de Meule

This cheese shop is located in Mamer. It offers an assortment of raclette for 12 euros per person, for 230 grams of cheese. And for 2 euros more, you can leave with the charcuterie that goes with it.

La Provençale has a team of 5 professional cheesemongers who have been trained by an experienced cheese ripener.
